about
A few years ago, I was asked to be involved with a tribute show to a singer/songwriter from Sydney Australia, Jesse Younan. I was there to be the sound engineer. The organisers heard me sing and asked if I wanted to participate as a performer the following year I felt honored and this was one of the two songs I chose for the tribute. I performed it for a few years but I always wanted to record this and it always had to have a violin arrangement. It has been a privilege to be part of the Jesse Younan Tribute Family and I am proud to release this song in honor of Jesse and the beautiful contribution he still makes to us all. You see Jesse was taken from us in 2008 by acute myeloid leukemia and I am reminded by this, that each day given to us is a precious gift and we can choose what we do with this gift.
During this terrifying time of the COVID-19 outbreak, I felt a strong sense of urgency to release this song to people as a small token of support and provide to healing and comfort during these dark times. Please enjoy the song and share it with your friends. They just might need a little comfort today.
My former partner and beautiful friend, Sue Stergo has graciously allowed me to use one of her amazing artworks, titled "Anguish" as part of this release. Please friend her on facebook. She is a beautiful soul.
lyrics
These, these are troubled times
and trouble, seems to find us with ease.
and though we try, we fail, we stray
Trouble, gets a kick outa lying its ass.
Keep, keep you head
this ain't no time for breakin' down
Keep, keep you head
this ain't the end of the world
And though they say only
good things come to those who wait
I've been waiting maybe
good times have come and gone
And though the light is on
the darkness is always here
you know people, they only
see what they wanna see
Keep, keep your head
This ain't no time for breakin' down
Keep, keep your head
this ain't the end, of the world
(Instrumental Solo)
Keep, keep your head
This ain't no time for breakin' down
Keep, keep your head
this ain't the end, of the world
but if it was, would it be so bad?
